Contact

Not yet published. A contact address must be set in site.contact_email before this site goes live.

One address for everything — privacy requests, corrections, press and anything else. There is no form on this page on purpose: a form would mean storing messages from people who have not asked us to hold anything, and email already works.

Things we can help with

  • A vehicle that will not resolve. If a real car returns nothing, that is usually a name-matching failure at our end and worth telling us about. Include the year, make and model exactly as you typed them.
  • A figure that looks wrong. Tell us the vehicle and what you expected. If our number disagrees with the agency's, we want to know; if it disagrees with another website, the agency is the tie-breaker.
  • Privacy requests. Access, deletion or an objection to processing — see the Privacy & Cookie Policy. Include the approximate date and time of your visit, because outside a short window we hold nothing that can be traced to you and there will be nothing to find.

Things we genuinely cannot help with

  • Whether a particular car is safe, or worth buying. TorqueAndTally shows what federal agencies have recorded about a model. It cannot speak to an individual vehicle, and we will not offer an opinion on one. A mechanic's inspection and a VIN check are the tools for that.
  • Diagnosing a fault. We can show you what other owners reported. We cannot tell you what is wrong with your car or what it should cost to fix.
  • Getting a record changed. The complaint and recall records are NHTSA's and the fuel figures are the EPA's. We pass them through and cannot amend them. To file or correct a complaint, go to NHTSA directly.
  • Legal or warranty disputes with a manufacturer.

Response times

This is a small operation. Privacy requests are handled first and within the periods the law requires. Everything else is answered when it can be, and sometimes that is slow — saying so is better than promising a turnaround we would miss.
